Paul died after a single treatment of capecitabine.

His wife, Colette, has shared images of him as he suffered from a toxic reaction. These images show the external effects of the toxic reaction -- imagine the internal damage that ultimately led to Paul's death.

She wishes to share them to help others avert this type of tragic outcome.

Colette, has been successful in advocating for an improved standard of care. It has been through her efforts that Quebec has begun pre-screening for DPYD*2A carriers.  She has also collaborated with the 5-FU Alliance which is the patient advocate group based in France that has been instrumental in instituting pre-screening there and she is a member of the US based Advocates for Universal DPD/DPYD Testing.
